Burnishing

Spots of increased sheen that appear after paint has been rubbed or scrubbed.
Cause:
  • Use of flat finish for areas subject to heavy wear and soiling
  • Furniture or other objects rubbing against walls.
  • Washing and spot cleaning frequently.
  • Use of low quality of paint with poor stain and scrub resistance
Solution:
  • Do not clean with rough cleansers.
  • Clean surface with non-abrasive detergents using a soft cloth or a sponge, then rinse with clean water.
  • Paint heavy wear areas with high quality Paints' washable finishes.
  • Gloss finishes are easier to clean and resist soil for high traffic areas.
